Here I am finally posting my pictures for MCP Project 12 on the last day of the month. There were other pictures I wanted to add but they did not look how I wanted them to. This month theme is Resolution. These two photos represent two resolutions I have for this New Year. The first one is to smile and laugh more (it really is good for the soul) and second is to wear my favorite pink shoes more.

Girl Scout Cookie Time

Girl Scout cookie sales are up and running. My little girl scout has decided that she wants to sell 83 boxes of cookies. I am working my daughter to help her surpass her goal this year. We have recruited some help from Kayla’s grandmothers (Grandma Rose and Nana). Together with the help of others we would like to send cookies to our military troops (Troops 2 Troops). The total cost for a box of cookies is $3.50.

The Joy of Childhood

My daughter’s teacher asked me to come in to take some photos of the students the week before Christmas break. The teacher wanted me to take some photos of the students having fun. I think one of the best photos I took that day would be this photo of my daughter. She has such a joyous spirit. I really like her facial expression in this picture. In this photograph I see the joy of just being a kid. Sometimes I wish I could go back and experience the freedom of childhood.

Happy New Year!

I took these photos today of my little diva. She is six going on sixteen. I would not trade my little diva for anything. She keeps my husband and I very busy.

I am so grateful that God has given me another year of life. I plan to enjoy every single moment of this year. I am looking forward to learning many new things this year. This year I truly plan to post on my blog a lot more. Stay tune for more posting this upcoming year on all of the things I love to do: photography, digital scrapbooking, and of course arts and crafts. I have to really work on my photography skills since I have finally upgraded my camera.

In this post I used a Free Magic Blog It Board action by MCP Actions. I really like this action it is very simple and quick to use.

Hot Pink Shoes

This was my entry for this week, I heart Faces Photo Contest. This week's contest is all about feet. My daughter was up for the challenge. She loves to take photos of things she loves. In this photo my daughter is wearing her favorite hot pink high top sneakers. I don't think my entry made it in this week, but I enjoyed taking this fun photo.

Last week I on September 15th I received an email from Shutterfly. In the email it stated I can receive a free Shutterfly book but I have to use it by September 21st. If you like to design your own scrapbooking pages digitaly or by hand and your pages are not up to date with your scrapbooking, you know this is not an easy task to complete. I had 6 days to complete a 20 page book. I decided I wanted to create my own pages using Adobe Photoshop. The last scrapbook I made with Shutterfly I use their premade templates. I like their designs but I wanted more of a one of a kind look. I am happy to say I did it. My daughter's 6 year old yearbook is complete. Here are a few of my favorite pages.

Mommy Made Outfit

Growing up my mom made, my brother and I so many outfits. My mom even made Mommy and Me dresses for her and myself. My mother was an amazing seamstress. Today she rarely sews, but I wish she did, so I could learn more. The last part of the summer I tried my hand at sewing.
I really like to sew, even though I am not great at it. When you start anything new it is a learning process. The web is a great resource for all kinds of fun and unique sewing tips. I found this great Tunic Tank tutorial on Tea Rose's blog . I purchased the tank and fabric from walmart to make the top for my daughter. I used an old pair of jeans that were to short. I increase the length of the jeans by adding ruffles at the bottom. Below is my finished project.

I really liked how it turn out. Of course my daughter could not wait to were this outfit to school.

Summer has come to an end and my little girl is in 1st grade. I know she is really not little, but deep down she will always be my little girl. Kayla had a great week. She was happy to see some of her old friends, and of course make some new ones. On her first day of school the teacher put her to work as lunch patrol.

Today I visited the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) Website, and found this picture. This picture was taken at the Orlando Museum of Art last year at Daddy O. Children were able to do a fun craft with their Daddy ( no Mommies allowed.) There are many fun things to do at OMA. I'm back. I know it's been a while since I have posted anything. Yes, I am still around just not doing a lot of blogging. My schedule has truly been crazy busy. I miss posting on my blog. . Well I made my first dress for my little princess. She was so excited about mommy making a dress for her. She wore her mommy made dress to school with a big happy smile. The dress was very easy to make. I plan to sew a little more. I actually used another pillowcase dress Kayla had as a pattern to make this one. Surprise Cupcake Birthday Party

Over the weekend I had a surprise birthday party for my little princess. She did not have a clue of what was going to happen on Saturday. My daughter thought she was only going out with daddy, for a special date. She did go out on a date ,with a surprise ending. Kayla date ended at Sweet by Good Golly Miss Holly. Before Kayla arrived, her friends made special birthday cards and paper cupcakes for her. Once the birthday princess arrived, everyone decorated chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with icing and sprinkles. The party ended with Daddy reading, If You Give A Cat A Cupcake, to Kayla and all her friends.

I know I had not posted anything in such a long time. Life is always crazy busy. My time is so limited. I do want to get back to blogging. I still love digital scrapbooking. I have not had much time to do it though. This year I want to learn more about professional photography. I had the pleasure of borrowing my friend's camera about a week ago. The Nikon D5000. The camera takes amazing pictures. My dream gift to myself for my birthday is a professional digital slr. I have my eye on a Canon. We will see what happens. My birthday is not until November, so I still have time to save for it (I hope). Here is a picture of my little Kayla using the Nikon D5000.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Today Kayla and I will decorate the goody bags for her class party. If they come out right I will post them. I am in the process of working on Kayla's 4th year book. I hope to have it completed before her birthday. I want to give to her as a birthday gift. She loves her photo books. Having Fun

I am truly an art and craft junkie. I love everything thing about being creative. I love taking photos by the hundreds. I am still working on getting my dream camera. I love creating things by hand and also digitally on the computer. I am so thankful for God for all the wonderful gifts he has given me (creative talent). This year I want to be able to use these gifts to create more, and give them with others. For Christmas my supervisor made everyone monogram shopping bags and handmade little purses. I think gifts that you make with your own hands are truly priceless treasures.

Scrapbookgraphics is my digital hangout. I love the challenges there. They really help you think outside the box. I have learned that digital scrapbooking is not just about pictures but about art.
Above is my challenge for creating altered anatomy. I decided to create a butterfly.
The great thing about this challenge is everyone is a winner.

My little Kayla loves Christmas and so do I. This year I decided Kayla and I would start a new tradition to help her understand that Christmas is not about receiving gifts but about giving them. We started our new tradition on December 1st. Kayla made a special card for someone's she loves dearly. Today I helped out a friend in need. Tomorrow Kayla and I plan to make a card for a solider.

Always Remember Tradition

I love the holidays and so does my little girl Kayla. She gets so excited about every aspect of Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loves to spend time decorating the tree, cooking and making art and craft projects. Of course she loves getting special gifts. We spend a lot of time together during the holidays doing things together as a family. I am teaching my daughter about the value of family traditions and the true meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Craft Super Show

Today, I attended the Craft Super Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. There is so much to do and see at the show. I went with my daughter and some friends. I wish I could have stayed longer to make all the cool crafts there. I spent most of my time hanging out in the Kid Zone with my daughter. She made a memo board, photo frame, bookmarks and a couple of bracelets. She had a great time. While I was there I did get to check out SCRAPHD.

From the demo I saw of SCRAPHD I think it will be a great tool for scrappers who want something quick, easy and fun. Digital designer, Danielle Young was at the SCRAPHD booth today. Danielle was so sweet and nice.

On Wednesday of this week I took pictures of Travis (my friend's son and daughter's teacher). It's amazing how fast children grow. Travis is such a great model. Last year , Travis was a little shorter, but this year he has gotten a little taller. I created this layout as a RAK for Janet (Travis's mom). I was RAK this kit last week. Blue with Lila is filled with cute and fun elements to create the perfect page for all your little princesses. I used my daughter’s best friend in these photos (Kalyn). I took these pictures of Kalyn in June of 2008. I love looking through old photos. You never know what treasures you will find.

I always love a challenge it pushes me to think outside the box. Even if I do not win a challenge I am happy with the fact that I work hard to create. I enjoy digital scrapbooking. I have done some many pages in the last 3 months. I think I have scrapped about sixty pages. I had to take a break for about week due to burn out.

Memory Makers 2010

I am finally done with my daughter’s second year book. I placed my order today on Shutterfly, with two days left to spare (deadline for free book March 31). There is so much coming up soon. In April and May a lot of birthdays.

If you love scrapbooking as much as I do. You have to enter Memory Makers Master 2010 contest. I entered last year and I am going to enter again this year. I am happy to hear you can enter online. Paper Doll Project

I use to love playing with paper dolls when I was little. My daughter has a few paper dolls. I decided one day how great would it be to turn her into a paper doll. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to turn my little Kayla into a paper.

First I took a photo of Kayla in her leotard. Next I turn the photo into a black and white photo. Next I change her photo into a stamp. My final step included coloring her by using my bamboo tablet. I use the eyedropper tool to select colors from the original photo to recolor the stamp of Kayla. I really like how her doll turned out. I still have to create some clothes.

Hello! I am still here. I have been busy working on my daughter’s second year scrapbook book (and all the other busy things mothers do). I earned a free book from Shutterfly and my expiration date is around the corner. I am still behind with the yearbooks, but I am trying hard to catch up. My daughter will be turning four soon. I have finally completed my first scrapbook page, for the New Year. Life truly keeps us all busy, but we have to slow down to do the things we love to do. . I enjoy digital scrapbooking. I love my little Kayla. I took this photo of Kayla when she was 2 months old. She was sleeping so peacefully in her little Snuggle Bug. I am so happy I took so many pictures of Kayla. Every time I see my little girl smile it is Pure Joy. Here is my little cupcake at 6 months old. Even though she is 3 years old now, it is still pure joy when I see her smile. I enjoyed using Soft Whisper by Steel City Scraps. I really like the letters in this kit. I used an outer glow in Adobe Photoshop to make the letters pop!

I love digital scrapbooking. You can create so many different designs and layouts. I had fun creating this layout. I used Steel City Scrap's Castle on a Cloud Kit to create this layout. The handsome model in the pictures are Travis. I day after school my friend (who is also my coworker, and daughter's teacher) asked if I could take a few pictures of Travis. Of course I could not turn her down. I love taking pictures. Travis did such a great job with the poses. He is such a good young man.
